Panasonic London_2012_ParalympicsMarch 13 - Panasonic has announced it will further its support of London 2012 by again signing up as an official partner of the Paralympics, extending a relationship that started at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin.


The Japanese giant will be the official sponsors in the Audio and Visual Equipment category.

Panasonic will provide a full line-up of audio visual equipment including LED large screen display systems, professional audio systems, flat screen television, digital video cameras, and broadcast equipment to support the staging of the Paralympic Games.

Panasonic will also supply its high-definition video equipment to the competition venues, and the International Broadcast Centre, so that the London 2012 Paralympic Games will be broadcast completely in the Full HD format.

The company said in a statement: "Panasonic has been an official partner of the Paralympic Games since the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games.

"Through its support for international sporting events such as the Paralympic Games, Panasonic aims to contribute to the promotion of world peace and greater worldwide acceptance of people with disabilities."

Along with Panasonic, London 2012's official Paralympic partner portfolio also includes Acer, Adidas, BMW, BP, British Airways, BT, Coca-Cola, Dow, EDF, GE, Lloyds TSB, Omega, P&G and Sainsbury's.

The company has been a worldwide Olympic partner since the Calgary in 1988.
