An agreement has been signed between PASO and the APC ©PASO/APCThe Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) and the 26-member Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) have signed a collaboration agreement described as a key step in the integration of disability sport in the Americas.

The agreement - signed here on Mexico's Pacific coast, where PASO was holding its General Assembly - provides for increased cooperation in a number of areas between National Olympic Committees and National Paralympic Committees.

José Luís Campo, APC President, said he considered that the door was being opened for APC to participate in different PASO events, activities and development programmes.

He said he was "really very happy with this important step".

Efforts to secure such an agreement are understood to have been in train for some time.
