Generations For Peace, which dedicates itself to using sport to promote peace and development, signed the new deal at a ceremony with the Mayor of the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic host city, Anatoliy Nikolayevich Pakhomov.

Chief executive of Generations for Peace Mark Clark was also in attendance, as well as the founder of the programme, Prince Feisal Al Hussein, who said: "This is another important milestone in the global development of Generations For Peace.

"The renewed partnership with our Russian friends shows that last year's groundbreaking event in Sochi worked.

"It shows that success breeds success and that we can partner with cities and organisations all over the world who are building a positive legacy for the future and share with us an understanding of the positive impacts achieved from harnessing the power of sport for long-term sustainable peace and development."

The camp will feature a range of delegates from across Russia and other European countries, with Sochi 2014 looking to benefit from their expertise in the development of volunteer movements.

The camp lasts for 10 days and features modules in sport and peace, peace building, working with children and youth, train the trainers, advocacy and partnerships among others.

Pakhomov said: "We are honoured to welcome Generations For Peace back to our city for the second time.

"Hosting the Winter Games in 2014 has given Sochi a great opportunity to stimulate positive social change throughout the region.

"Partnering with an international NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) like Generations For Peace means that our city can help spread that change in and beyond the Black Sea coast, into the communities that need it most, all over the world."

Clark added: "We are delighted to have such a committed and passionate partner in the Sochi city administration.

"We are all confident that the Generations For Peace Sochi Camp 2011 will build upon the success of last year's camp and produce another cohort of inspirational delegates intent on making a difference in their communities.

"For the leaders of youth who pass the rigorous selection process to attend, Sochi Camp 2011 is just the first phase in their journey towards becoming a Certified Generations For Peace Pioneer."

The camp runs from October 10-19, and Generations For Peace's eighth camp since its inception.

This latest development is another boost for Sochi 2014 after a week in which they were praised by the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Coordination Commission for their preparations for the Winter Olympic Games.
