altSeptember 25 - British designer Stella McCartney has launched her first men's lifestyle collection that has track pants, T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts for the British 2012 Olympics team.

McCartney has been appointed creative director for the British team for the 2012 London Olympics and will oversee the design of the athletes kit, which will be made by Adidas, a Tier One sponsor of the Games.

She celebrated her new role by unveiling three sports-inspired collections, catering to both men and women.

"This is the first lifestyle-inspired collection and apart from bespoke tailoring, it's the first time I've ever done anything for men," said McCartney, the daughter of former Beatle Paul.

"It's interesting to be able to work on both men's and women's looks in a more casual sporting arena, and to have a kind of easiness to them that appeals to people but still has a sort of edge, an element of the language of the Olympic Games.

A range of goods are now available in John Lewis, the official Department Store Provider for London 2012, and on the London 2012 website.
