Daniel Esposito, who now coaches his 20-year-old daughter, competed in the modern pentathlon at the Los Angeles 1984 Games.

"Ever since I knew dad did pentathlon I wanted to do it as well," said Chloe (pictured above), who has made a huge impact on the international modern pentathlon scene since qualifying the Olympic quota place last year.

"I've seen all his old photos and he still has his Olympic riding jacket and that makes this even more special.

"He hasn't said too much about the Olympics and the Village but he's told me how much I'm going to enjoy it."

Chloe finished in the top ten at her debut senior World Championships and made the finals of the opening two World Cups of 2012, winning bronze in Rio de Janeiro in March, as well as placing eighth at the World Cup final last month.

"I've been really happy with my last few competitions but there's still a lot to work on," she said.

"I've learnt so much from those World Cups which is so great for London.

"I'd obviously love to get a medal, but I've got tasks for each event and if I complete those tasks that'd be a medal for me."


Fernon (pictured above), 24, who will also be making his Olympic debut, said: "It will be so exciting to be held in such a fantastic place and there will be such a great atmosphere in London.

"Since I took up pentathlon I had the goal of competing at the Olympics so for that to come to completion now is very surreal."
