Jr_K4_-_Kahookele_Barlow_Easterbrook_Collins-1_08-07-11July 8 - The USA Canoe Kayak (USACK) Sprint Selection Committee has announced a 19 strong squad for the 2011 US Junior Sprint World Championship team.

The selection was based in largely on results from the Junior National Team Trials in New York last week.

The team will head to Brandenburg in Germany for the Junior World Championships at the end of the month, from July 29 until 31.

"Congratulations to all athletes on their selection to the 2011 Junior World Championships Team," said USACK's national development director Mac Hickox.

"Their parents, coaches and club volunteers are also to be recognised for their support of the preparation and development of these highly-skilled young paddlers."

Athletes from teams including the Hawaii Canoe and Kayak Team, San Diego Canoe and Kayak Team and Cascade Canoe Club took part in trials.

"We are very proud of the dedication that these young athletes have shown to the sport, their clubs, their coaches and themselves in reaching this level of racing," said USACK's chief executive Joe Jacobi.

"The Junior World Championships provide the ideal stage on which to take their racing to the next level."
