A full USA Taekwondo contingent at Paris 2024 with real medal potential. USA TAEKWONDO

Team USA will field a four-man taekwondo team at Paris 2024. CJ Nicholas, silver medallist at the 2022 World Championships, qualified for the Olympic Games via the Olympic rankings in the men's -80kg.

Three more athletes qualified through the Pan American Qualifying Tournament in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. USA Taekwondo's Director of Athlete Affairs, Sherman Nelson, stated that he has watched these athletes grow into the most amazing individuals and elite athletes over the course of many years.

"I have personally witnessed the dedication, blood, tears and sweat they have experienced on their journey. I can attest to their dedication to the sport of taekwondo and to representing the United States," said Nelson.

18-year-old Kristina Teachout (women's -67 kg) defeated Tokyo 2020 57 kg gold medallist Anastasija Zolotic at the US National Trials. Jonathan Healy (men's +80 kg) is the 2019 Pan American Games champion and 2023 Pan American Games silver medallist. Faith Dillon (women's -57 kg) was runner-up at the 2023 Grand Prix Finals in Manchester. All three will join Nicholas at Paris 2024.

"There is no place I would rather be than ringside in Paris to watch them achieve the ultimate success at the 2024 Olympic Games. I am delighted that we have qualified a full contingency with real medal potential for the Paris Games," concluded Nelson.
