World Athletics has launched an online tool which tracks the qualification process for next year's Olympic Games in Paris.

"Road to Paris 2024" can be used by athletes, media and fans and provides a real-time view of each event in the qualification period.

Users can search by discipline, country and qualification status.

The system to qualify for Paris 2024 was confirmed in December last year.

As with the re-arranged 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the last two World Championships in Eugene and Budapest, 50 per cent of athletes will qualify through entry standards.

The remaining 50 per cent will qualify through the world rankings.

Qualifying for the marathons is due to end on May 5 with a date of June 30 for all other events.

"The Road to Paris 2024 tool is only intended to give an overview of which athletes are in a qualifying position," World Athletics said.

"It doesn't, and will not, indicate which athletes have been selected for entry by their National Olympic Committee.

"Final entries will be published nearer to the time of the Games."

"The tool also covers the qualification status for the five relay events, although these are not dependent on entry standards or world rankings.

The online tool can be found here.
