Skateboarder Cui Chenxi became China's youngest gold medallist in the Games’ history when she captured the women’s street title at the age of just 13.

After taking up skateboarding three years ago, Cui looks set for stardom in the sport as she underlined her talent with a fantastic display at the Qiantang Roller Sports Centre.

Cui totalled 242.62 points to clinch gold after a second run score of 79.14 before nailing her first two tricks, scoring 80.31 and 83.17.

The other medallists were also teenagers with 18-year-old Zeng Wenhui of China placing second with 236.61 and 16-year-old Miyu Ito of Japan ranking third with 221.59.

Cui, who was born in December 2009, was not even born when Kuwaiti shooter Abdullah Al-Rashidi won all three of his world titles in the 1990s.

She was just five when Rashidi captured his last Asian Games title at Incheon 2014 before he was crowned champion at the age of 60 here.

Rashidi won Kuwait’s first gold medal of Hangzhou 2022 with victory in the men’s skeet final in impressive fashion.

He equalled the world record score of 60 points, beating India’s Anant Jeet Singh Naruka who finished two points shy in a shoot-off.

Qatari Nasser Al-Attiya did just enough for bronze as he posted a score of 46.

As well as Kuwait, Kazakhstan also ended their wait for a first gold with success in shooting as Zoya Kravchenko, Assem Orynbay and Olga Panarina saw off their Chinese opponents to win women’s team skeet gold.

India picked up two more shooting golds, with success in the women’s team 25 metre rapid pistol final along with a victory for Sift Kaur Samra who registered a world record score 469.9 to win women’s 50m rifle 3 positions gold.

The other four shooting titles went to China courtesy of golds in the men’s team skeet and women’s team 50m rifle 3 positions events as well as wins for Jiang Yiting in the women’s skeet and Liu Rui in the women’s 25min pistol competitions.

While Cui starred in the women’s street skateboarding event, 16-year-old Zhang Jie delivered gold for China in the men’s street competition with a score of 231.14.

China added a further 23 golds to their tally to move to 76 overall in a 140-medal haul - which is double the amount won by second placed South Korea.

Two of China’s golds came in chess thanks to wins for Wei Yi and Zhu Jiner in the respective men’s and women’s chess finals.

The hosts also won both wushu titles on offer, with Chang Zhizhao winning the men’s daoshu gunshu crown followed by Lai Xiaoxiao claiming women’s jianshu qiangshu gold.

Zuo Tong continued China’s hot streak in artistic gymnastics by winning the women’s all-around title.

The 17-year-old gymnast triumphed with a score of 53.565 points to ensure a fourth successive victory for China in the sport.

Xia Xinyi completed a hat-trick of women’s beach volleyball titles with a third different partner as she came out on top alongside Xue Chen following their 21-11, 21-13 thrashing of Japan's Miki Ishii and Sayaka Mizoe.

Swimming continues to provide plenty of joy for Chinese fans as they won four out of the seven finals today.

Zhang Yufei set the ball rolling with victory in the women’s 100m butterfly final in an Asian Games record time of 55.86sec.

This was followed by success for Wan Letian in the women’s 100m backstroke and Yu Yiting in the women’s 400m individual medley finals.

China left their best performance until last when they clocked 3:37.73 to win the mixed 4x100m medley relay title which was just 0.16 short of setting a new world record.

There were also two more swimming gold medals for Japan with Katsuhiro Matsumoto and Reona Aoki winning the respective men’s 100m butterfly and women’s 100m breaststroke titles, while South Korea’s Hwang Sun-woo clocked an Asian Games record time of 1:44.40 to claim men’s 200m freestyle gold.

Japan won all three golds on the opening day of track cycling finals, securing the women’s team pursuit, men’s team pursuit and women’s keirin titles, with Mina Sato topping the podium in the latter.

They also delivered gold in the mixed team judo event, thrashing Uzbekistan 4-0 in the final.

In taekwondo, Jordan’s Zaid Abdul Kareem claimed men’s under-68 kilogram gold, South Korea’s Park Wooh-yeok won the men’s under-80kg title and China’s Song Jie came out on top in the women’s under-67kg category.

South Korea achieved two fencing golds, beating China 45-38 to clinch the men’s team foil title before edging Hong Kong 36-34 in the women’s team épée final.

An all-Thai EA Sports FC battle ended with a 2-0 victory for Teedech Songsaisakul over Phatanasak Varanan.

Racing was cancelled in the sailing competition due to poor conditions, resulting in medals being awarded in six disciplines.

There was a Chinese double in the windsurfing events, with Bi Kun and Huang Xianting claiming the respective men's and women's iQFOiL titles.

Nur Shazrin Mohd Latif of Malaysia was victorious in the women’s dinghy event at the Ningo Xiangshan Sailing Centre, while Ryan Lo of Singapore won the men’s dinghy competition.

Max Maeder of Singapore added Asian Games gold to his world title following his triumph in the men's Formula Kite event.

Chen Jingyue of China was also dominant in the women's Formula Kite competition.
