Mohammad Hossein Taghipoor struck first as he defeated neutral athlete Nikita Gubanov in the men's over-180-centimetre decider at the Arena Hotel Hills.

Gubanov's fellow neutral Ramazan Rasulov occupied joint-third place on the podium alongside Spaniard Ivan Lysenko.

Taghipoor's countrywoman Hana Zarrinkamar was next to take top spot with a confident defeat of Australian Akon Baak in the women's over-176cm tournament.

They were joined in the medal ceremony by semi-final losers Nielle Vroegh of The Netherlands and Bosnia and Herzegovina's Lamija Alihodzic.

The first final of the day saw Italian Gabriele Rosato get the better of Greece's Efthymios Iliadis in the men's under-176cm competition.

Neutral athlete Kazbulat Kazanchev and Nattawat Bunchang of Thailand had done enough for bronze.

Uzbekistan's Akhadjon Mukhtorov was crowned champion of the men's under-180cm tournament ahead of French runner-up Nolhan Rosemond and bronze medallists Leonardo Angell of Australia and American Joshua Alade.

The only other women's title was secured by Serbia's Vanja Rankov after she dispatched Iranian Ayla Jalili in the under-176cm class.

They were met on the podium by the United States' Pola Wasilewska and Klara Uglešić.
