It will be the 15th edition of the event which will see players aiming to be crowned world champions in CS:GO, CS:GO Female, Dota 2, Tekken 7, eFootball, PUBG MOBILE and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Romanian city Iași is set to stage the World Championships, scheduled to run from tomorrow until September 4.

A total of 24 teams are poised to compete for the CS:GO crown from Saturday (August 26) until September 3.

Hosts Romania have been placed in Group A along with Hungary, Mongolia, Vietnam, Argentina and Germany.

Group B consists of Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Denmark and Ukraine, while Group C features Mauritius, Belgium, Poland, Guatemala, Sweden and Australia and Group D features the United States, Czech Republic, Serbia, Indonesia, Algeria and North Macedonia.

A Russian team placed third in the CS:GO tournament held at the previous World Championships in Bali last year.

Teams from Russia and Belarus had been eligible to compete in Iași as neutrals only to be barred from attending after the IESF ruled that the "safety and security of all athletes" cannot be guaranteed.

The CS:GO Female event comprises of 10 teams split into two groups, with competition due to run from August 28 to September 2.

Dota 2 returns after featuring in 2021 and 2022 with 16 countries due to go head to head from August 27 to September 3.

eFootball and Tekken 7 are also on the programme, with more than 100 players set to do battle in both from Saturday (August 26) until September 2,

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition featuring 16 teams is set to run from August 28 to September 3, while 16 nations are also poised to compete in PUBG MOBILE from August 29 to 31.
