A Chefs de Mission seminar for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been well-received by National Olympic Committee representatives, leaving them feeling positive for the event scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11 next year.

The seminar saw them engage in discussions on topics including accommodation, ticketing, transport, and the ceremonies.

The Games' Organising Committee also detailed the efforts set out to ensure good conditions for delegations. 

"I have taken a lot from my time at the Chefs de Mission Seminar in Paris, including detailed information and insights about the preparations," said Australian Chef de Mission Anna Meares.

"I am excited about the canvas being crafted that will become a masterpiece for the Games next year.

"I believe Australian Olympic Team members will thoroughly enjoy their experience at these Games.

"I have every confidence in the Paris 2024 team with its vision that celebrates the athletes and showcases them in the heart of their city and surrounding regions." 

Participants of the seminar had the chance to visit both competition and non-competition venues in Paris and its surroundings including the Olympic Aquatics Centre which is adjacent to the Stade de France and close to the Olympic Village.

The seminar was also described as "a rich learning experience" by France's Chef de Mission and Jackson Richardson, and "intense and fruitful from all points of view" by Cape Verde's Léo Moreau.

As part of the programme, the NOC representatives were also invited to events hosted in Paris including the celebration of Bastille Day and two special evening at l'Hôtel de Ville and Quai d'Orsay.

"The Chefs de Mission Seminar plays a pivotal role in the preparation of the Games because behind each athlete stands a National Olympic Committee, and the Chefs de Mission hold a vital responsibility in the success of their nation's teams," said Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet.  

"These five days have been instrumental in helping the Chefs de Mission to prepare their athletes for Paris 2024. 

"Ensuring a smooth experience for the athletes and their entourages will be key to the success of the Games and to delivering a sporting celebration like no other!"
