More than 100 staff at the Solomon Islands Government seconded to work at this year’s Pacific Games in Honiara attended a meeting in preparation for the event.

A total of 122 workers gathered at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports as part of the commissioning programme.

Pacific Games 2023 chief executive Peter Stewart made a speech along with Jimmie Rodgers, chairman of the National Housing Authority, Solomon Islands’ Secretary to Cabinet Nego Sisiolo and Secretary of the Ministry Luke Checka.

"To all seconded staff let me say you are very fortunate from the thousands of public servants," said Checka.

"You are the chosen few who were accepted to work with the Pacific Games as part of the Government’s contribution for the Games this year."
