Laffont, an Olympic champion from Pyeongchang 2018, won two gold medals in the moguls and dual moguls disciplines at this year's Freestyle World Ski Championships in Bakuriani.

The event is organised by the French Ski Federation and honours the country's best-performing athletes from the season across different disciplines.

Nearly 400 people, including 100 children from local ski clubs, were invited by the governing body to attend the event at the Imperial Palace Hotel.

Laffont also won two World Cup Crystal Globes after topping the season standings for both dual moguls and moguls.

She was named the best female athlete of freestyle skiing and snowboarding for 2022-2023.

Simon secured World Championships glory as she won the 10-kilometres pursuit in Oberhof before taking the overall victory in the World Cup.

Fabien Claude, who was part of the World Championships gold medal-winning relay side, secured men's biathlete of the year.

In total, the French team secured 95 podium finishes, 22 World Cup gold medals, nine World Cup Crystal Globes, as well as 12 medals at Bakuriani 2023 including six gold.

Snowboard cross athlete Merlin Suget was named as the best freestyle skiing and snowboarding competitor of the season after taking a first World Cup victory in Cortina d'Ampezzo in February.

The Nordic combined Chrono d'Or awards went the way of Delphine Claudel and world bronze medallist Jules Chappaz.

Alpine skiing titles were won by Tessa Worley and Alexis Pinturalt in the women's and men's disciplines, respectively. 

Pinturalt won his third gold medal at the 2023 World Championships in Courcheval in the Alpine combined.

Bernard Front and Perrine Pelen were also awarded an honorary Chrono d'Or for their instrumental roles in the successful staging of the World Championships, as they served on the Organising Committee.
