M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment has extended its deal with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), as its official creative agency for a further three years.

The sponsorship and marketing agency signed an initial four-year deal with the AOC and following a successful Have A Go campaign in the run-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the partnership has been extended to cover Paris 2024.

The Have A Go campaign aimed to encourage Australians of all ages and backgrounds to try participating in sport.

The programme also covered themes including exploring connections, bringing communities together and putting in place programmes to help boost Australians overall mental health and wellbeing.

AOC chief executive Matt Carroll said: “Since the first modern Games in 1896, Australia’s Olympians have been inspiring generations of Australians with their dedication, commitment, and courage.

“‘Have A Go’ has proven to be a highly engaging and effective programme so we are really excited to extend our partnership with M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment to build on this momentum in the lead up to Paris 2024.”

M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment managing director Krystyna Frassetto added: “Every four years the Olympic Games galvanises our country in a way few events can match.

“It’s a privilege to be continuing our partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee and play a role in a sponsor community with other leading domestic and international brands.

“We look forward to building on the legacy of ‘Have A Go’ to inspire current and future generations of kids to participate in sport.”

The 478-strong Australian team earned 46 medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, consisting of 17 golds, seven silvers and 22 bronzes.

This haul placed Australia in sixth on the medals table.

The nation’s best performance came in the sport of swimming, where they won 21 medals, including nine golds.
