China and South Korea both qualified for the quarter-finals, as Singapore was eliminated alongside Uzbekistan, despite defeating them 5-0.

World Championships bronze medallist Zhao Junpeng defeated South Korea's Cho Geonyeop in the men's singles.

After losing the first game 11-21, he won 21-16, 24-22 in a match that lasted one hour and 21 minutes.

The fixture went to the final match after China's Gao Fang Jie defeated Kim Ga Eun, before South Korea beat China twice in the doubles.

The final match went to down to the last game as South Korea's Kim Young Hyuk and Lee Yu Lim won the first game 21-17. 

However, China's Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Ya Xin completed a comeback, winning the last two games 21-15, 21-13 in a match that lasted 53 minutes.

Singapore dominated Uzbekistan, winning all five games with less than 21 minutes played in each contest.

India defeated defending champions Malaysia 4-1 to top Group B, in a battle for first place as both teams won their other games 5-0.

HS Prannoy, who won gold in the 2022 Thomas Cup in Bangkok, gave India the lead after defeating Lee Zii Jia, last year's Asian Championship men's singles winner.

Jia won the first game 21-18, but fell to Prannoy 21-13 and 25-23.

PV Sindhu beat Wong Ling Ching in two games during the women's singles, giving India a 2-0 lead.

Malaysia managed to win the men's doubles 21-16, 21-10 to give their country hope of topping the group.

However, India's women doubles team secured the victory after winning 23-21, 21-15.

Group C saw Indonesia top the group with a 3-2 triumph over Thailand.

Indonesia came back from 2-0 down as they squeezed past Thailand in the doubles, maintaining a perfect record.

Thailand still managed to qualify, as their other two wins outmatched Lebanon, Syria and Bahrain.

Hong Kong eased past Pakistan in the final Group D match, winning all the games to qualify for the quarter-finals.

In the same group, Japan finished top, ending Chinese Taipei's hopes after winning three of the first four matches, as Chinese Taipei won the first and last match.

The quarter-finals will begin on February 17, with China facing Malaysia, South Korea playing India, Indonesia taking on Hong Kong, and Japan facing Thailand.
