New Zealand's dominance has shone through at the Oceania Badminton Championships in Auckland as the host country is represented by three of the four singles finalists.

The men's singles gold medal-match will be an all-New Zealand affair between Edward Lau and Abhinav Manota.

Defending champion Lau beat the 2019 runner-up Remi Rossi of Tahiti 21-15, 21-19 with some powerful stroke play.

Manota then beat fourth seeded Australian Jacob Schueler 21-12, 21-19.

"I feel pretty good right now, it was a tough match against Jacob and it's going to be a tough final too.

"I've got other things in life, but I will always give 100 per cent when I’m playing."

Shaunna Li was the other victorious New Zealander, this time in the women's singles semi-finals, as she dispatched Australian Louisa Ma 21-18, 21-15.

She faces a challenging match in the final against Australian top seed Tiffany Ho who beat compatriot Kai Qi Teoh 21-11, 21-11.

"I'm pretty pleased with the way I played and finding my game," said Li.

"It will be a difficult final against Ho, I have only played her once before.

"It will be a good game.

"I've only played in the Oceania Open Champs one previously as last year I tried to play, but got COVID."

Australia's Sylvina Kurnniawin and Setyana Mapasa were the first to progress to the women's doubles final after beating fellow Australians Joyce Choong and Gronya Somerville 21-19, 21-11.

They are due to meet Ho and Lee Yen Khoo who recorded a convincing 21-9, 21-14 win against Priska Kustiadi and Carina Sam of Australia.

New Zealanders Alan Yun Lung Chan and Chance Cheng combined to see off Australia's Lim Ming-chuen and Jack Yu 21-17, 21-14.

They are set to face Kenneth Choo and Rayne Wang next who won 21-15, 21-14 in an all-Australian duel.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with gold medals to be won in all five tournaments.
