Granerud lost his four-event winning streak yesterday as he finished seventh in a competition won by Germany's Andreas Wellinger, but bounced back to win the second World Cup in a large hill double header on the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumping Complex's 128-metre jump.

He earned an 11.5-point victory in the American resort with jumps of 125.0 metres and 134.0m, earning him 137.5 and 150.1 points respectively to finish on 287.6.

Wellinger placed second with 124.0m and 130.0m jumps to score 131.1 and 145.0 for a total of 276.1, and Austria's Stefan Kraft was third on 275.3 from jumps of 123.5m and 130.0m.

Yesterday's large hill competition featured a first World Cup win since 2017 for Wellinger, who climbed from fifth place in the first round into first with 264.5 points, courtesy of jumps of 129.0m and 125.5m.

Large hill Olympic silver medallist Ryōyū Kobayashi of Japan held a commanding lead at the halfway stage with 144.1 from a 136.0m jump, but followed it with just 111.9 from a 114.0m effort to finish second with 256.0.

Austria's Daniel Tschofenig in third earned a first World Cup podium with 255.4 from 129.0m and 120.0m jumps.

The first men's super team competition on the World Cup circuit was won by Poland through Piotr Żyła and Dawid Kubacki.

They finished with 800.8 points from the three rounds.

Austria's Tschofenig and Kraft top scored in the first and third rounds, but struggled on the second and had to settle for silver in the super team with 787.6.

Naoki Nakamura and Kobayashi took third place for Japan with 776.7.

Granerud moved closer to his second Crystal Globe in Lake Placid with 1,652 points.

Closest challenger Kubacki placed fifth and seventh in the double header, losing further ground on 1,359.

Anže Lanišek of Slovenia is third on 1,096 - 12 points clear of Kraft.

He placed 18^th yesterday, and missed out on today's event because of damage to his suit which ruled him out of qualification.

Râșnov in Romania is set to be the next stop on the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, with men's and women's normal hill competitions scheduled from Thursday (February 16) until Sunday (February 19).
