Olympic downhill champion Beat Feuz of Switzerland has announced his retirement.

The 35-year-old, who was also a world champion in 2017, said that the classic events in Wengen and Kitzbuehel in January will be his last races.

"Pushing limits and risk has been my passion in skiing for years," the 35-year-old Feuz said on Instagram.

"My emotion has often been the key to success.

"Now my feeling tells me: the physical limits have been reached.

"I am incredibly grateful that I was able to practice my passion for so long and experience many emotional moments."

Feuz also has a super-G silver and downhill bronze medal from Pyeongchang 2018.

The Swiss star has won 16 World Cup races in his career, including 13 downhills.

"Looking forward to spending more time with my family and excited to see what new challenges my life will bring," Feuz said.
