The Notice of Race has been published for next year's Sailing World Championships in The Hague, a competition which has qualification on the line for the 2024 Olympic Games.

It includes, rules, regulations, entry and qualification guidelines, format, scoring, schedule, venue and courses for the event due to take place in the port of Scheveningen from August 10 until 20. 

As well as the podium in The Netherlands, sailors will be vying for berths the following year's Olympics. 

This is also set to be the first edition to include Para sailing events with Hansa 303, 2.4mR and RS Venture classes all on the programme.

All 10 events on the Olympic programme are to feature including the mixed competitions - 470 and Nacra 17.

The men's laser event is set to have the most boats eligible to compete at the World Championships, with 140, while 120 can compete in the women’s laser radial.

Men's and women's foil have 100 berths at the Championships, postponed until next year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by 90 in the men's formula kite and 85 in the men's 49er.

The women's 49er FX, the 470 and Nacra 17 all have 70 spots, and the women's formula kite has 60.

Between eight and 16 quota spots will be guaranteed for the Olympics, depending on the event, at the Championships.

Sailing at the 2024 Olympic Games is due to take place at Mediterranean port Marseille, France's second largest city 410 miles south of Paris.

The sport will not feature at the Paralympic Games having been dropped from the programme after Rio 2016.
