The two-time ISU Four Continents champion fended off competition from Belgium’s Loena Hendrickx and compatriot Mana Kawabe.

Mihara performed to "El Amor Brujo", completing three clean triple jumps on her way to gold.

"Today with my free skating I have a lot of regrets, but I am happy to go to the Grand Prix Final," Mihara said.

"I hope by then I overcome the obstacles and will get my level up and will become a stronger person.

"I was not in my best condition, but from now on I would really want to show my best, especially at the Grand Prix Final."

The Japanese skater qualified for the ISU Grand Prix Final along with silver medallist Hendrickx.

Hendrickx, World Championships silver medallist, managed to score 203.91 points overall.

Kawabe, performing to "Drowning" by Anne Sila, delivered four clean triple jumps to bag a total score of 197.41.

Another Japanese in Rika Kihira finished fourth totalling 192.43 while Canadian Madeline Schizas came fifth with 187.84 points.

World junior bronze medallist Lindsay Thorngren of the United States finished sixth after claiming 183.23 points.

Among men, Ilia Malinin was the winner after dominating the field with 278.39 points. 

Victory means the United States skater also secured a place in the Grand Prix Final in Turin.

Japan's Shun Sato and Kévin Aymoz of France secured silver and bronze with 262.21 and 255.69 points respectively.
