Toyota has launched a US Paralympic Fund to support athletes training for this summer’s rescheduled Paralympic Games in Tokyo and the Paralympic Winter Games being held in Beijing next year.

In partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), Toyota Motor North America is also inviting support from the public in an initiative marking 100 days to go until the Tokyo Paralympics are due to open on August 24.

"Toyota believes that mobility goes beyond cars and wants to support people in their efforts to get across town, across a room and through life," the organisation say.

"Toyota also believes in the power of sport and its ability to connect people with diverse backgrounds as they compete with mutual respect toward a common goal.

"Through sport, the Olympic and Paralympic Games bring together the entire world to celebrate the highest realisation of humanity, and it is the elite Paralympic athletes who truly demonstrate that when a person is free to move, anything is possible."

Team USA supporters are invited to donate to the fund - with 100 per cent of gifts guaranteed to go directly to Paralympic athletes and initiatives.
