Rio 2016 silver medallist Tijana Bogdanović was one of four winners on the opening day of the World Taekwondo Europe Olympic Weight Categories Championships in Dublin.

The Serbian beat Russia's Galina Medvedeva 24-14 in the women's under-49 kilograms final at the Sport Ireland Campus.

Ukraine's Iryna Romoldanova and Russia's Natalia Antipenko were the bronze medallists.

Today's other female champion was Croatia's Marija Štetić, who defeated Bodine Schoenmakers of the Netherlands 6-2 in the women's under-57kg final.

The bronze medals went to Russia's Elena Evlampyeva and Portugal's Joana Cunha.

In the men's under-58kg final, Great Britain's Mason Yarrow overcame Russia's Ibragim Evloev after his opponent was disqualified when trailing 35-20.

Rounding off the podium were Moldova's Stepan Dimitrov and Russia's Georgii Gurtsiev.

There was also a gold medal-winning performance from Russia's Sarmat Tcakoev, a 17-11 victor at the expense of Bulgaria's Mitko Dzhordzhev in the men's under-68kg final.

Israel's Nimrod Krivishkiy and France's Dylan Chellamootoo were the bronze medallists.
