Hungary's Veronika Major and Abhishek Verma of India won their second gold medals of the season at the International Shooting Sport Federation Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

Major triumphed in the women's 25 metres pistol event with a score of 35 hits at Centro Militar de Tiro Esportivo, the venue for shooting at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Hungarian, who earned her first World Cup gold of the campaign in New Delhi in February, beat Xiong Yaxuan of China by two targets.

Xiong took silver ahead of Chinese Taipei's Tien Chia Chen, who finished with 28 hits.

Verma claimed the men's 10m air pistol honours with a total of 244.2 points in the final.

The Indian shooter ended the competition 1.1 points in front of Turkey's İsmail Keleş.

Verma's compatriot Saurabh Chaudhary claimed bronze on 221.9 points.

Petar Gorša of Croatia emerged victorious from a close men's 50m rifle three positions final, edging out Sanjeev Rajput by 0.2 points.

Gorsa ended on a score of 462.2 points, with Rajput second on 462.0.

China's Zhang Changhong earned bronze on 449.2 points.
