Top seed Amanda Mlinarić is set to face Mexico’s Fernanda Zepeda in the second round women’s compound competition at the Archery World Cup in Antalya.

The 17-year-old from Croatia had broken her own cadet world record at Antalya Archery Field yesterday in qualification at the Turkish venue to top the standings and earn a bye through to the second round.

She discovered her opening opponent of the match play event when Zepeda beat Britain’s Lucy Mason 145-144 today.

Colombia’s Sara López is due to take on India’s Swati Dudhwal, winner of her first round match on a tie-break against Erika Damsbo of Australia.

Dutch star Mike Schloesser topped men’s qualification yesterday and will face home hope Evren Çağıran in the third round.

The Turkish archer earned a tie break win over India’s Bhagwan Das in the second round after both archers achieved scores of 144 points.

The host nation will be able to enjoy an all-Turkish third round clash in the men’s recurve event, with top seed Mete Gazoz set to face Samet Ak.

In the women’s competition, Chinese Taipei’s Tan Ya-Ting is due to face Mexico’s Marina Avita in a third round tie.
