Switzerland's Matthias Kyburz and Sweden's Tove Alexandersson lead the men's and women's standings respectively heading into the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) World Cup Final in Prague, which begins tomorrow.

With 100 points available for a victory and three individual races remaining this season in the Czech capital, Alexandersson has an unassailable looking lead.

The seven-time world champion boasts 660 points after a string of earlier-season successes, with nearest challenger Natalia Gemperle of Russia on 398.

Mariki Teini of Finland sits in third on 328 so cannot catch the Swede.

In the men's event, Kyburz currently tops the pile with 470.

It is a much closer race as his compatriot Daniel Hubmann is second on 445 with Olav Lundanes of Norway third on 425.

The opening event in Prague tomorrow will be a knock-out sprint, in a trial of a new format of the sport.

Sprint relay will follow on Friday (October 5) with Switzerland currently leading the overall team standings by 45 points from Norway.

Middle distance action will take centre stage on Saturday (October 6) before sprint rounds-off the World Cup Final a day later.
