A questionnaire has been released by the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) to gauge the views of its members as part of its strategic planning for 2019 to 2022.

The survey, which is open until September 21, contains ten questions and is designed to involve all members.

Questions include thoughts on the strengths and challenges of the IWAS and member expectations as well as any support they might need and their take on current and future activities.

The purpose of the survey is to help inform the new IWAS strategic plan, which will guide the organisation until 2022.

The strategy will ensure that the IWAS make any adjustments necessary to serve its members, it is claimed.

"The new strategy will take us to 2022, beyond the next cycle of IWAS Games and the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics," IWAS President Rudi Van den Abbeele said.

"We expect those events to mark real progress in the history of our movement and of Para sport generally.

"It is important therefore that organisations take the time to respond to the survey.

"We need to make sure that we can meet the needs of all of our members before we enter this important phase.

"The IWAS Executive Board is really interested in hearing all views, positive and negative, so that we don’t leave anyone behind.

"Let us have a good debate about where IWAS is going in the next four years for athletes and members alike.”

The report from the survey will be published by the IWAS Executive Board by November.
