Belgium's Bart Swings took men's 20,000 metres elimination gold as the Inline Speed Skating World Championships continued in The Netherlands.

The 27-year-old, also a successful speed skater and winner of an Olympic silver medal in the mass start event at Pyeongchang 2018, posted a time of 28min 29.287sec to secure the title on the road in Arnhem.

Daniel Niero of Italy was forced to settle for the silver medal as he finished in 28:29.451.

Frenchman Nolan Beddiaf also mounted a challenge but faded on his way to earning the bronze medal.

The women's equivalent was won by Italy's Francesca Lollobrigida, who beat two Colombians to deny the South American team further success at the event in the Dutch city.

Lollobrigida triumphed in the elimination race ahead of Johana Viveros and Fabriana Arias.
