Argentina clinched women’s hockey gold on the penultimate day of the South American Games in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

A series of strong performances saw the Argentine team ease through to the final at the Félix Capriles Stadium.

They would claim gold in impressive style, brushing aside Uruguay by an 8-0 scoreline.

It added to the men’s hockey gold they earned yesterday.

Chile secured the bronze medal, courtesy of a 7-0 success against Brazil.

Squash competition concluded with the men’s and women’s team titles being claimed.

Peru would triumph in the men’s event, with Diego Elias and Alonso Escudero guiding them to a 2-0 win over Argentina.

The bronze was claimed by Chile and Colombia.

Argentina would also suffer defeat in the women’s team final, with Colombia emerging as 2-0 winners in the event.

Chile and Ecuador, who suffered defeats in the semi-finals, were awarded the bronze.

The Games are set to conclude tomorrow.
