Newly crowned Olympic champion Sarah Hoefflin will hope to underline her status when she competes at the first Slopestyle World Cup competition since Pyeongchang 2018 in Silvaplana.

The event in Switzerland will act as the penultimate event of the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup season.

While several big names are missing after the Olympics, Hoefflin will expect a hero's welcome in front of a home crowd.

Another home favourite, Mathilde Gremaud, comes into the event after winning silver behind Hoefflin at Pyeongchang 2018.

Hoefflin and Gremaud will face competition from Sweden's Jennie-Lee Burmansson, who remains on course to win the World Cup title.

The 15-year-old currently heads the standings on 349 points, with Norway's Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen and Johanna Killi completing the top three on 216 and 190.

With Christiansen not competing in Switzerland, Burmansson could move closer to becoming one of the youngest crystal globe winners in freestyle history.

Switzerland boast the leader in the Men's World Cup standings, with Andri Ragettli having accrued 260 points to date.

He is followed by Norway's Oystein Braaten and Sweden's Oscar Wester, who have 225 and 220 points respectively.

Competition will begin tomorrow with the men's and women's qualifications, which will be a best-of-two run format.

The finals will follow the same structure on Saturday (March 3).
