United World Wrestling (UWW) have announced the draws for the women's wrestling and men's freestyle World Cups, which will be held in Takasaki and Iowa City, respectively.

Hosts Japan are the headline name in Group A of the women's wrestling event in Takasaki, and will be looking to increase their number of World Cup titles from nine to 10, which would put them four in front of China in second.

The defending world champions will be without 48 kilogram wrestler Yui Susaki, who lost in a recent wrestle-off against Yuki Irie.

However, Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallists Risako Kawai and Sara Dosho have been included in the squad and will be competing in the 63kg and 69kg categories respectively.

Canada and the United States, two of the other teams in Group A, also boast Olympic champions on their rosters.

Erica Wiebe, who is the reigning Olympic and Commonwealth Games champion in the 75kg event, will compete for Canada whilst Helen Maroulis, the Rio 2016 53kg gold medallist, will grapple for the US.

Sweden, who replaced Turkey at the tournament, are the fourth team in Group A.

Belarus, who were joint silver-medallists with the US at the 2017 World Championships, are the favourites in Group B with Maria Mamshuk, a silver medallist in the 63kg event at Rio 2016, the headline name in their team.

They will compete alongside Mongolia, Romania and China, who have included Olympic bronze medallists Sun Yanan and Zhang Fengliu in their squad, in their group.

The women's wrestling tournament will be held from March 17 to 18.

The hosts will also be one of the favourites on home soil in the men's freestyle World Cup in the US.

The American team includes Olympic champion and two-time world champion Kyle Snyder, a 97kg wrestler, and five-time world title winner Jordan Burroughs, who will compete in the 74kg competition.

They will line up alongside Georgia, Japan and Iran, whose squad is likely to include Olympic champion Hassan Yazdani Charati, in Group A.

Six-time champions Russia, who also have an additional 15 titles as part of the former Soviet Union team, are the frontrunners in Group B and their squad could include two-time world champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev, at 92kg, and former world champion Khetig Tsablov at 74kg.

They will face Cuba and neighbours Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in their group.

The men's freestyle tournament will take place from April 7 to 8 at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena .
