South Africa and Botswana each secured World Championships spots as the 2018 Women's Softball African Championships continued in Pretoria today.

Botswana did avenge their defeat to the host nation yesterday with a 5-0 win over South Africa today at Attridgeville Softball Park.

The two powerhouses will meet again in the final tomorrow.

According to results posted on the official South Africa Softball Facebook page, South Africa also beat Zimbabwe and Lesotho 17-0 apiece.

Botswana dispatched Lesotho 19-0 and Zimbabwe 17-0.

Zimbabwe also defeated Lesotho 15-8, and these two countries will now clash in the bronze medal game.

The World Championships are scheduled to take place in Chiba, in Japan, from August 2 to 12.

The tournament will use points system and the best team will qualify for the Worlds.

Botswana are the best ranked team in Africa and are ranked 17th in the world with 180 points, with rivals South Africa on position 21 with 40 points.
