United World Wrestling (UWW) have announced their matches of 2017 in the freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's categories.

In freestyle, the 97-kilograms gold medal bout between American Kyle Snyder and Russia's Abdulrashid Sadulaev at the World Championships in Paris was named as the winner.

Described by UWW as "arguably the most anticipated match-up of all time", the clash in the French capital in August pitted together two Olympic gold medallists and world champions.

There was also extra spice as the United States and Russia were tied in the team race on 53 points, with the outcome settling that battle as well as the individual spoils.

In the end, the match did not disappoint, with Snyder managing a takedown with 25 seconds left to seal the win.

For Greco-Roman, a 60-kilograms quarter-final between Kyrgyzstan's Tynar Sharshenbekov and Turkmenistan's Seydylla Tazayev at the Asian Junior Championships has been selected as the winner.

The pair clashed in Taichung in Taiwan in June with 27 points registered on the scoreboard.

Tazayev was behind 4-0 early in the first but was able to claim a 9-8 lead heading into the break.

He then outscored Sharshenbekov 9-2 in the second period on his way to a 17-10 win.

In women's wrestling, Vanesa Kaladzinskaya's 53kg World Championship win against Mayu Mukaida was named as the winner.

The Belarus athlete, the 2012 world champion, used a step-out late in the first period to narrow the lead of Japan's Mukaida lead to five points.

With ten seconds remaining, she completed her comeback with a four-point move to win 8-6.
