Danish pair Lin Ea Cenholt Christiansen and Christian Peter Lübeck have moved to the top of the standings after day two of racing at the Nacra 17 World Championships.

They started the day on the bay of Aigues Mortes in France in fifth but, after recording a third and two fourth place finishes today, now find themselves at the top of the standings on 13 points.

Great Britain's Ben Saxton and Katie Dabson retained their second place from yesterday.

They posted a sixth, fifth and second today to finish on 19 points overall.

Italians Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti find themselves in third on 21 points after posting a victory, a second and sixth place finish today.

France's Moana Vaireaux and Manon Audinet are also on 21 points but the Italians moved in front courtesy of their race win.

The French duo enjoyed a consistent day on the water with two third place finishes and a fourth.

The overnight leaders, John Gimson and Anna Burnet of Britain, have dropped to sixth after a discarded 14th, a sixth and seventh place finishes today.

The mixed Nacra 17 class first featured on the Olympic programme at Rio 2016 and is due to return at Tokyo 2020.

The World Championships are, however, be the first competition to feature a newly configured foil design.

Action is scheduled to continue tomorrow.
