The United States and Canada booked a repeat of the previous final as both came through their last four clashes at the Federation of International Lacrosse Women's World Cup in Guildford.

The Americans knocked out hosts England at the Surrey Sports Park as they chase a third World Cup title in a row.

It was a comfortable win in the end as the world number one side and favourites prevailed 19-8.

They led 9-5 at half-time and then clicked through the gears after the break, adding another 10 goals to England's three.

Canada needed overtime to end the challenge of two-time winners Australia.

The Canadians let 5-3 at half-time but the Australians battled back to level the contest at 6-6.

That necessitated the extra stanza, with two unanswered goals from Canada settling the match.

It means the Canadians are into the final for a second time after their appearance last time out in 2013, when they lost 19-5 to the US on home soil in Oshawa.

The final will be played on Saturday (July 22).

England and Australia will also clash for bronze earlier in the day.

Classification matches will be played tomorrow.
