Two goals from Leon Goretzka helped Germany into the final of the 2017 Confederations Cup after recording a thumping 4-1 win over Mexico this evening.

The FC Schalke 04 midfielder scored twice inside the opening eight minutes to hand his team control of the match at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi.

A quick German breakaway saw Benjamin Henrichs streak down the right before firing a low pass inside to Goretzka on the edge of the box.

The German guided a shot into the bottom left corner after six minutes.

Less than two minutes later, Goretzka added a second.

Timo Werner played his team-mate in before the 22-year-old clipped a delicate finish over Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and into the net.
