Germany’s Julia Krajewski claimed victory as the Luhmuhlen Horse Trials drew to a conclusion with the show jumping round today.

Krajewski began the closing day in second place, having produced strong performances in the dressage and cross-country on Samurai du Thot.

The Olympic silver medallist moved into pole position on home soil by delivering a composed display in the show jumping to end the competition on 41.10 penalties.

The effort would prove enough to claim victory, with overnight leader Bettina Hoy of Germany dropping down the standings.

"I love coming to Luhmuhlen," said Krajewski.

"Julia Otto and her team always create perfect conditions for riders and horses, which is greatly important for us to do the sport we love so much.

"Winning here makes me incredibly happy.

"We had a super start with a fantastic dressage, in cross-country, Sam proved that even on long courses he can easily gallop inside the time and the show jumping was out of this world."

The silver medal was claimed by Nicola Wilson, with the Briton finishing with 41.70 penalties on Bulana.

Hoy was forced to settle for third place overall, as the German rider slipped to 43.00 penalties after the show jumping on board Designer.

The competition was the fifth leg of the International Equestrian Federation's (FEI) Classics season for eventing.
