A special "Olympics Night" is due to be held at the Dodger Stadium to celebrate Los Angeles 2024.

It will take place during the Los Angeles Dodgers' home game against the Atlanta Braves on July 20.

Atlanta was the last American city to host the Summer Olympics, in 1996.

A special ticket package will also include a legacy LA84 Foundation cap and a LA2024 t-shirt.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance will also receive a Great Dodger Moments Coin #5 - celebrating the 1984 Olympics at Dodger Stadium, when baseball was a demonstration sport.

It is hoped that the promotion will help boost support for the Los Angeles among the local public.

Either Los Angeles or Paris will be awarded the 2024 Games less than two months later during the IOC Session in Lima on September 13.

The Californian city is currently being inspected by the IOC Evaluation Commission chaired by Switzerland's Patrick Baumann.

A delegation from the panel visited the Dodgers Stadium here yesterday alongside Los Angeles 2024 bid leader Casey Wasserman and city Mayor Eric Garcetti.

At present, no sport is due to take place in the 57,000 capacity stadium should Los Angeles be awarded the Games.

However, it is likely that if baseball and softball were added as additional sports, as they are for Tokyo 2020, then they would be held there.
