Egypt’s former world number three Omar Mosaad has been forced to withdraw from next week's Eventis Canary Wharf Classic in London due to illness.

The current world 13 lost in the final last year but will now have no chance to go one better.

He will be replaced as the tournament's number three seed by Simon Rösner of Germany.

Action is due to begin on Monday (March 6) at London’s East Wintergarden venue.

Home hope Nick Matthew is the number one seed and will face Ryan Cuskelly of Australia in his first match.

Egypt will pin their hopes on Marwan Elshorbagy.

The second seed will begin against a yet-to-be-determined qualifier.
