Canada's Mikael Kingsbury broke the men's record for most International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle World Cup podium finishes as he took dual moguls gold in Deer Valley.

The 24-year-old's victory at the United States resort means that he has now finished in the top three on 58 occasions, one more than France's Albertville 1992 Winter Olympic moguls champion Edgar Grospiron.

Kingsbury, who is hoping to become the overall freestyle World Cup champion for the sixth time in a row, also added to his victory in the single moguls event in Deer Valley on Thursday (February 2).

He has become the first man ever to win both events at the Deer Valley meeting twice after also achieving the feat during the 2014-15 season.

After coming through his four rounds before the big final with relative ease, Kingsbury was too strong for compatriot Marc-Antoine Gagnon in the race for gold.

He came through in style as Brodie Summers of Australia beat Finland's Jimi Salonen in the small final for bronze, claiming his first top three finish in the process.

"It feels amazing," said Kingsbury.

"Deer Valley is just like the Superbowl for us, and just to win the singles competition was amazing.

"But I was fired up today to do the back-to-back and there are no words to describe it.

"And then to be on the podium both times with one of my team-mates, it’s just unbelievable."

Kingsbury has now won four of the six events this season and leads the Moguls World Cup standings with 520 points.

In the women's competition, Australia's Britteny Cox also bagged a fourth win of the campaign.

She won her big final against Canada's Andi Naude, keeping her cool as her opponent came unstuck on the bottom half of the course.

American Jaelin Kauf won home bronze by beating 16-year-old team-mate Olivia Giaccio in the small final.

"It’s just been phenomenal," said Cox, who was third in the Deer Valley singles.

"Just the whole way we’ve built up this season with my support team, my family - who are here today from Australia - and my teammates.

"I’ve been learning so much from them this season and to see Brodie get his first podium today is incredible."

Cox has 505 points on top of the women's standings, in front of Canadian Justine Dufour-Lapointe who has 354.

Perrine Laffont of France is third on 331.

The Moguls World Cup season will now continue on February 11, with a test event for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
