Pyeongchang 2018 has added to its portfolio of sponsors for the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games by signing agreements with SERVEONE and HS Ad.

The two companies are subsidiaries of the LG Group, a South Korean conglomerate.

SERVEONE has become the official sponsor in the construction category and will be responsible for building the new headquarters for the Organising Committee in Pyeongchang.

HS Ad has joined as a “brand creative” sponsor and the company is set to handle the production of official public relations materials.

They will also be tasked with overseeing the design creation for the Pyeongchang 2018 properties such as the pictograms and the medals.

“We are happy to have these affiliates of the LG Group join the sponsorship programme and we are confident that their services will to help enhance our Games preparations and add new energy to the nationwide enthusiasm for Pyeongchang 2018,” Pyeongchang 2018 President Cho Yang-ho said.

The news provides another sponsorship boost for Pyeongchang 2018, who have just emerged from a busy period of test events for the Games in two years’ time, the first ever Winter Olympics and Paralympics to take place in South Korea.

The first test event, an International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup competition, was held at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre at the beginning of last month and was followed by two Snowboard World Cups at the Bokwang Snow Park.

These were held from February 19 to 21 and from February 25 to 27, while the venue also played host to the Freestyle Ski World Cup event on February 18 to 20.

Last month’s final test event was a Ski Cross World Cup at Bokwang from February 26 to 28.

Organisers have faced a slight hitch in recent weeks, however, as testing at Pyeongchang 2018's Alpensia Sliding Centre hit difficulties as there was not enough ice on the upper section of the course.

“It is our pleasure to contribute to the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, which will be a significant national event as well as a global festival where everyone from around the world can participate and enjoy,” LG Group President Ha Hyun-Hwoi said.

“We will provide our full support to help make Pyeongchang 2018 successful.”
