A new partnership has been announced between the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Jet Set Sports dedicated to growing spectator attendance at the Games, beginning next summer in Rio de Janeiro.

Extending through the Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, fans and supporters from around the world will have the opportunity to celebrate "the best of Paralympic sport" through the "dedicated services" offered by New Jersey-based Jet Set Sports as the IPC’s Global Authorised Ticket Reseller and Official Hospitality Provider.

In close coordination with the IPC, as well as each Organising Committee and National Paralympic Committees, they will offer a variety of individual ticket and package offerings within 162 territories for next year's Paralympics.

Fans and supporters who have historically been "under-served and as a result under-represented" at the Paralympic Games will benefit from these greatly enhanced opportunities to experience elite Paralympic competition first-hand, it is claimed.

“The Paralympic Games are now the world’s third biggest sporting event in terms of tickets sales," said IPC chief executive Xavier Gonzalez.

"We are delighted to strengthen our offering to sport fans thanks to our new partnership with Jet Set Sports."

The agreement marks a further example of IPC enhancing its scope in a commercial sense following the success of London 2012 and Sochi 2014.

Jet Set Sports, joined by its sister company CoSport, have over 30 years of experience in organising ticketing for major sporting events.

The first Olympics they were involved with were the Winter Games at Sarajevo in 1984.

More recently, they were involved in Sochi 2014 and enjoy longstanding relations with many National Olympic Committees including those in Britain and United States.

They also provide other services such as programme management, IT services, staffing, food and beverage, ground transportation, accommodation, hospitality and more.

Individual tickets and packages will be available outside Brazil via the Jet Set Sports and CoSport websites here and here from Monday (October 19).

As at previous Games, individual tickets will be offered first as part of a request phase in order to afford fans ample opportunity to familiarise themselves with the event and then "identify the offerings best suited to their unique needs and interests".

More will then be rolled out on a first come, first served basis as available inventory permits, while package sales via CoSport will also open on Monday.

“This exciting, new partnership will be marked by greater fan engagement only starting in Rio,” said Jet Set Sports co-chief executive Alan Dizdarevic.

“Our team has a deep knowledge of Brazil and is already preparing to welcome Paralympic fans with an enticing variety of individual ticket and package options.

"Beyond Rio, Jet Set Sports and CoSport will be ready to similarly host the growing Paralympic community in Pyeongchang and Tokyo shortly thereafter.”
