The event was attended by a number of Iranian Paralympians, including Paralympic and world champion powerlifter Siamand Rahman and London 2012 bronze medal winning shooter Sareh Javanmardi.

The Paralympic Committee invited members of Parliament to witness the achievements of the Iranian team from London 2012 to the Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games.

Among the visitors to the exhibition were Ali Larijani, the Parliament speaker and Sports and Youth Minister Mahmoud Goudarzi.

During his visit, Larijani emphasised Parliament's special attention towards Paralympic sports and further investments in promoting sport for the disabled.

His sentiment followed a call from the chairman of Sport Fraction and the chairman of the Parliamentary Parasport Commission for the Iranian Government and Parliament to allocate more resources to Parasport in the country.

Paralympic sport is developing fast in Iran with the nation showing vast improvements at recent international Paralympic events.

At London 2012 the nation finished 11th on the medal table after securing 24 medals, including 10 gold, an improvement of 10 medals from Beijing 2008 where they came 22nd.

At the 2014 Asian Para Games the nation placed fourth on the medal table with an impressive 120 medals, 40 more than they won at the 2010 Games.
