British Eurosport 2 will broadcast the Badminton World Championships live ©British Eurosport 2This year's Badminton World Championships will be aired live from Copenhagen on British Eurosport 2, the broadcaster has announced.

Coverage of the sport's flagship tournament will start at 6pm British Summer Time next Monday (August 25) on the channel and continue daily until September 1.

The move will give British badminton fans the chance to see some of the best athletes in the sport competing for the world titles at the Ballerup Super Arena in Denmark's capital.

Among the stars to watch are Li Xuerui of China, who heads the seedings in the women's singles, and South Korean men's doubles title hopefuls Lee Yong-dae and Yoo Yeon-seong.

China's Bao Yixin and Tang Jinhua will be aiming for glory in the women's doubles event, while another Chinese pairing, that of Olympic champions Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei, will be confident of success in the mixed doubles.

Elsewhere, the absence of five-time champion Lin Dan of China from the men's singles event could make for an interesting competition, with Malaysian two-time runner up Lee Chong Wei being the current favourite for the gold.
