During his two-week visit to the country, Valcke raised a number of concerns over Stadiums in Natal, Porto Alegre and São Paulo as they race against the clock to be completed in time for the start of the World Cup on June 12.

The Arena de São Paulo, wdue to host the opening game of the tournament between Brazil and Croatia, has seen three workers die during its construction and FIFA have called for a second test event to be held at the Stadium due to problems with the first.

The match is due to be held on Sunday (June 1) and will see Corinthians take on Botafogo in front of a reduced capacity crowd.

During his visit to Porto Alegre, Valcke tweeted that there was "lots yet to be done" on the Beira Rio Stadium before its ready to host its five games during the World Cup.

In March Jose Fortunatl, Porto Alegre's local Mayor, said the city could drop out of hosting any World Cup matches if additional funding was not found to build facilities for media, sponsors and fans.

The worries were mostly concerned with the temporary structures to house the media, sponsors and other requirements by FIFA.

Commenting on the preparations, Valcke added: "We cannot waste a single minute otherwise the quality for fans and broadcasters will be jeopardised during the World Cup"

When in Natal, Valcke tweeted that it was a "race against the clock" and there was "still lots to be done for World Cup fans and media" after a visit to the Arena das Dunas, adding: "We need full commitment from all parties in Natal to ensure all will be in place and tested."

Valcke's final stop was in the north-eastern city of Salvador, where he praised "Salvador's commitment to work with our on-site team to finalise remaining works for fans, media and teams."

The city's Stadium, Arena Fonte, is set to host one of the most highly anticipated opening games of the World Cup, Spain versus the Netherlands, a rematch of the 2010 World Cup final.

"All must be perfect that day," Valcke warned.

"No time to waste."

The build up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil has been clouded in controversy following deaths at sStadiums, protests over the rising cost of the tournament and huge delays on a number of venues.

Following his stadium visits, Valcke wrote that FIFA and Brazil "are getting there," in terms of World Cup readiness, adding, "with the teams on the ground busy applying the final touches."

"As I said many times, the staging of a FIFA World Cup is a collective effort and we will not have a single moment to relax until the opening matches in all 12 cities are played."

The 2014 FIFA World Cup is set to take place from June 12 to July 13 with Australia becoming the first team to arrive in Brazil ahead of the opening fixture next month.
