The season four WSB play-off fixtures have been announced ©WSBMarch 8 - Cuba Domadores and USA Knockouts are set to face-off in a thrilling World Series of Boxing (WSB) quarter-final match-up following today's playoff announcement.

Beginning on March 28, the quarter-final fixtures see the top four teams from both group A and B face-off in a knock-out style competition to determine the overall WSB champion.

With two matches still to be contested in the regular season, the exact opponent for each team is still to be determined, however, the results of these fights will have no effect on the eight teams progressing through to the play-off stage of the competition.

One match that has been set in stone is the quarte-rfinal match-up between the unbeaten Cubans and the Americans.

Exploding onto the WSB scene this season, the Cuba Domadores have been a boxing sensation, losing just six individual bouts across the whole 10-week period.

With a line-up comprising of world and Olympic medallists, the Cubans look in a class of their own and it will take a real effort from the USA Knockouts to put a dent in their otherwise unscathed armour.

The two teams will go toe-to-toe in Miami on March 28 before the return leg in Havana on April 4.

Excitement is already building for this historic fixture which will see a senior national Cuban team fighting on American soil for the first time since the controversial 1999 World Championships.

These Championships in Huston saw the Cuban team, coached at the time by Alcides Sagarra Carón, withdraw from the competition following a spate of controversial decisions by referees and judges.

Another predetermined tie for the quarterfinal stage is the contest between the defending champions, the Astana Arlans Kazakhstan, and the ever consistent Team Germany.

The Kazakh team won season three in imperious fashion, stealing victory from the Ukraine Otamans in a historic tie-breaker final.

That fine form has continued into season four where they find themselves sitting just behind the Cuba Domadores with seven victories out of 10.

The unveiling of their latest addition to the team, world champion and International Boxing Association (AIBA) Best Boxer 2013 Daniyar Yeleussinov, in the final week of the regular season, will make them a real force to be reckoned with as they look to defend their title.

Standing in their way, however, will be the impervious Team Germany, who, with star boxer Erik Pfeifer at the helm, will prove a real handful to any challenger thrown their way.

Yet to be decided are the encounters between the Russian Boxing Team, Ukraine Otamans, Dolce and Gabbana Italia Thunder and the Azerbaijan Baku Fires.

Sitting atop group A with eight wins apiece, the Ukraine Otamans and Italia Thunder cannot meet in the quarterfinal stage.

They will face either the Russian Boxing Team or Baku Fires, with a final group match against the Algeria Desert Hawks for Italia Thunder set to determine whom they will face in the first play-off leg.

All quarter-final first leg matches are set to be held on March 28, with the second led scheduled for April 4.
