She wrote on her Instagram account: "I do not feel my body lower than my belly button.

"But I am strong and know that some day I will definitely be on my feet again."

The 23-year-old, who was preparing for the ski-cross event, was injured on a series of jumps in the top part of course during a training run on February 15.

She had a "successful" six-hour operation that day after breaking and dislocating her spine.

A spokesman for the Russian Freestyle Federation said earlier this month she had fractured her 12th dorsal vertebrae in her lower-middle back.

Komissarova has undergone several more operations since, and was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin the day after her horror accident.

She was not considered a serious medal contender at the Olympics, but did win a World Cup silver medal in Grindelwald in 2012.

Since her crash on the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park course, Komissarova has been transferred to a hospital in Munich.

She added on her Instagram page, where she also posted a photo of her lying on her hospital bed: "Even in these moments I continue to be happy, though it's very hard."

The skier also thanked people for their support.

There were a number of injuries suffered during the Sochi Games, including a bobsleigh track worker breaking both his legs when he was hit by a non-competition bobsled on February 13.
