The song, "BANG THAT DRUM" by Danish-African singer Nabiha, will be played across all four hosting cities - Copenhagen, Aalborg, Aarhus and Herning - at every match of the 15-day tournament.

Nabiha will also be performing the song live at both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, on January 12 and January 26 respectively, at the 14,000-capacity Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning.

"I am honoured to be asked to write the official song for the EHF EURO 2014 and I look forward to becoming a part of this great event," Nabiha said in early December when it was revealed she would produce the official theme song for the Championships.

"My goal with 'Bang That Drum' is to unite everyone for a big handball party.

"At the same time I have considered the players and their tough preparation for such an event – an intensity I can relate to in my work as an artist experiencing big expectations towards my performance."

Hearty, the official mascot for the Championships, will also perform a Bang that Drum dance to entertain the crowds across the four venues.

The mascot was named after the event slogan "A Heart of Handball".

Tickets sales for the Championships, the 11th edition since its inauguration in 1994, have picked up rapidly over recent weeks with around 800 tickets being sold daily for the preliminary matches.

The tournament is due to get underway on Sunday (January 12) with Iceland taking on Norway at the Gigantium, Aalborg in group B before Czech Republic go head to head with Austria at the Jyske Bank Boxen, Herning in group A.
