The Globe and Mail have renewed their partnership with The Canadian Olympic CommitteeOctober 22 - The Globe and Mail has announced a four year renewal to their partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) as the Official News Media Partner.


The agreement, which runs through to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, will see the Toronto-based The Globe and Mail support the Canadian Olympic Team's brand campaign for Sochi 2014, as well as the Coaches Reward Programme, which rewards coaches for podium finishes at the Olympics.

"Since 2005, The Globe and Mail has been a tremendous partner to the COC, and our renewed agreement continues this legacy of support as we approach Sochi 2014," said Marcel Aubut, Canadian Olympic Committee President.

"Canadians have high hopes for our athletes in Sochi, and as was the case in Beijing, Vancouver and London, The Globe and Mail's outstanding coverage will ensure our athletes' stories will continue to be told to fans back home and around the world."

The Globe and Mail, Canada's second biggest selling newspaper, has also signed on to become National News Media Partner to the Canadian national men's and women's bobsleigh and skeleton teams, and Presenting Sponsor of the Canadian women's CAN 1 bobsleigh team.

These agreements will see prominent Globe and Mail branding on team suits and the Women's Can 1 Bobsleigh, among other benefits.

Eight Journalists from the Globe and Mail will be attending Sochi 2014 in order to provide up to date news coverage, analysis and insight on the events taking place in Russia.
