Peace_and_Sport_International_ForumNovember 30 - Living legends of sport such as Paula Radcliffe, Sergey Bubka and Frankie Fredericks will join more than 500 decision-makers from 90 countries at the Fourth Peace and Sport International Forum in Monaco this week.

The summit, featuring influential people from the fields of sport, politics and the private sector, has a major goal - to fortify the role of sport in international and local policies for peace-building, peacekeeping and peace promotion in countries in crisis.

Participants include representatives from 45 governments, major international organisations, 30 Olympic and non-Olympic International Sports Federations, 20 members of the International Olympic Committee, 30 Presidents of National Olympic Committees, plus companies from the private sector and numerous NGOs and associations.

Joël Bouzou, President and founder of Peace and Sport, said: "Advancing the cause of peace in the world is a major concern of inter-governmental institutions as well as citizens and all responsible entities in our international community.

"Today, sport is increasingly proving itself as a legitimate and efficient instrument to achieve this objective.

"The community of stakeholders who want to commit to, or increase their involvement in, this initiative is growing all the time, as the growing success of the forum demonstrates.

"In this context, our platform aims to bring together initiatives and people who want to deploy sport for peace and use it as a catalyst for their projects."

The Fourth Peace and Sport International Forum takes place from December 1-3.
